Armenian Curriculum

St. Stephen's is pleased to have adopted the newest & most innovative Armenian Language Series available entitled "Mer Lezoun". This is a publication of the Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America. This program was completed in 1997 and St. Stephen's was fortunate to be a pilot school to test this program while the curriculum was being edited and printed.

Kindergarten

The Goal is to help students:

  1. Recognize the 38 letters of the Armenian Alphabet
  2. Blend sounds together to read words.
  3. Recognize key words.
  4. Retell stories read aloud.
  5. Express ideas through illustrations.
  6. Read with fluency, expression and understanding.
  7. Express ideas in complete sentences.
  8. Use age appropriate grammar and vocabulary.
  9. Use correct spelling
  10. Write legibly.
  11. Write numbers 1-50
  12. Count numbers 1-100
  13. Compare and contrast
